School Board of Directors to Recognize 
Mt. Baker Middle School Student, Marcus Marino

On Monday, September 22, the school board of directors will recognize Marcus Marino, an eighth grade student at Mt. Baker Middle School.  Marcus is being honored for being a very involved, active student who is respected by all.  He is an ASB officer, a good student, a school athlete, and a very talented musician who has played the National Anthem at pep assemblies and participates in the school talent show.  Marcus’s musical instrument is the piano.  One of Marcus’ coaches, Cameron Grow said, “Marcus also is in the Honors Program, so not only is he talented athletically and musically, but academically as well.   He is a very well-rounded young man.  Marcus can be one of the best baseball players to come out of Mt. Baker Middle School.  His work ethic and leadership ability set him apart from the others on the baseball diamond.  He is a great athlete, student, and person--what else could anyone want?” said Mr. Grow.  “He is one of the nicest kids I know,” says Chris Thorington, an eighth grade language arts and social studies teacher.  “Marcus has a heart of gold and will help anyone in need.”
