Fifth Annual "Reaching Out Fair" to be held
Thursday, October 16
In Auburn, the public is being invited to attend the fifth annual “Reaching Out Fair,” on Thursday, October 16, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Auburn Performing Arts Center (PAC). The fair, which will be co-hosted by the Auburn School District, Green River Community College, Muckleshoot Indian Tribe, and the Cities of Auburn, Algona, and Pacific, will focus upon sharing information about the community resources essential to keeping children and youth safe.
The “Reaching Out Fair” will present student talent and student testimonials about individuals who have made a difference in their lives. The fair’s theme, “Together, We Make a Difference,” will be reflected throughout the event. The all-girl rock band, the Mechanical Dolls, will be performing. This popular local rock band’s members are three Auburn High School juniors whose style is comparable to “The Donnas.”
The Auburn SuperMall has donated a $200 mall gift certificate to be given to a middle school student attending the “Reaching Out Fair” based upon their participation in the information fair.
An information fair featuring community resources such as Auburn Parks and Recreation, YMCA, Auburn Youth Resources (AYR), Green River Community College, Children’s Home Society, and others will be available to event participants from 6 to 7 p.m. in the PAC lobby. The information fair will be specifically geared toward middle school students. Free refreshments including pizza and soft drinks will be provided.
