On Monday, September 27, the Auburn School Board of Directors will recognize Heather Odell, Terminal Park Elementary fifth grade student, for her educational achievements. Heather is a member of Mrs. McIntyre's Student Teacher Enrichment Program (STEP) class. Heather maintains excellent grades and exemplary attendance. Her positive citizenship serves as an example for all students at Terminal Park. While excelling in all subjects, Heather is particularly gifted at writing; her favorite classes are writing, science, and reading. Heather is an accomplished violinist. Last year she performed for the entire school at a recognition assembly. In addition to her instrumental ability, Heather also was part of her school’s Tiger Tones select choir. She performed on many occasions at school and even sang the National Anthem at a Tacoma Rainiers game. Heather is active in her church outside of school. Last year, she performed in "Annie" at Messiah Lutheran. Heather is at home on the sports field as well. She plays on a local soccer team. A responsible young lady, Heather takes care of a dog, two cats, a bird, two mice, and four fish at home with plans to expand. She aspires to be a veterinarian. Heather will attend Rainier Middle School next year.
