Invitation to Community to Attend
Special
GRAMMY Event Tuesday, October 11, 2005
Auburn High School extends an invitation to the community to attend a special GRAMMY event on Tuesday, October 11, 7:30 p.m. in the Auburn Performing Arts Center. This gala concert is to celebrate the presentation of the prestigious GRAMMY award for excellence in a high school music program to Auburn High School’s music department for the fourth time. Of the more than 18,000 high school music programs nationwide, Auburn High School as chosen as one of only 35 schools to receive this recognition. The Auburn High School’s music directors: Brett Dupree, band director; Dale Johnson, orchestra director; and Kandy Gilbert, choir director have designed a musical program showcasing orchestra, band, and choir students. Auburn High School directors will present the GRAMMY award to a community member who is representative of the broad support of the school’s music program.
Auburn High School music alumni, their families, former music teachers, and staff members are among the groups from the community who will be honored that evening.
The GRAMMY Foundation, a non-profit arm of the Recording Academy, is dedicated to advancing music and arts-based education across the country and ensuring access to America’s rich cultural legacy.
