NEWS RELEASE
Auburn High School Paraeducator Elected as
President of Auburn Morning Toastmasters Club

Laurie Kizziah, a paraeducator at Auburn High School, has been elected the 2007-08 President of the Auburn Morning Toastmasters Club. During the past year Laurie completed all 10 projects in the Communication and Leadership Program manual and has received her Competent Toastmaster Award.

Toastmasters is a learn-by-doing or hands-on workshop in which men and women improve their communication and leadership skills in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere.

The mission of every Toastmasters Club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills.  In turn everyone fosters self-confidence and personal growth.

The Toastmasters program is not a trade school, college or other formal course in public speaking. In Toastmasters, members learn by studying the manuals, practicing and helping one another. Learning takes place in the club environment. Club meetings are workshops where one studies and practices communication and leadership skills with others who are there for similar reasons.

The Auburn Morning Toastmasters Club meets every Thursday morning from 6:30-7:30 a.m. at the Rainbow Café, 112 E. Main St., Auburn.

For more information contact Mike Carroll, Auburn Morning Toastmasters Club V.P. of Membership, at (253) 288-0627.
