Pioneer Elementary School Awarded Washington Health Foundation Grant

Pioneer Elementary School in Auburn was recently awarded a $5,000 Washington Health Foundation mini-grant to help build walking trails on the campus.

The walking trails project will serve the entire student body population of 445 students and all 50 staff members. The walking trails will also bridge the gap between school and community, providing a safe, alternative place to walk/run for community members during non-school hours.

The walking trails will encourage physical fitness and communicate the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
