EARN COLLEGE CREDITS THROUGH TECH PREP
Auburn School District has agreements with Green River Community College, Highline Community College, Renton Technical College and Seattle Central Community College that allow students to earn college credit while taking classes in high school. Since its beginning, Tech Prep students have earned hundreds of credits and saved incredible amounts of tuition dollars. Some programs that have Tech Prep agreements with the colleges may include American sign language, business, automotive, construction, electronics, computer systems, engineering and computer networking, culinary arts, drafting and engineering, early childhood education, marketing, graphic design, visual communications, sports medicine, web publishing and drawing. See specific course description to determine if Tech Prep credit is available.
Students in these classes will be able to register for credit between December and May of the year credit is earned. In addition to satisfying the class competencies, students must earn a "B" or better in the class and credit is free. At the approximate value of $170 per credit, that is a huge savings for our students. Teachers of Tech Prep classes can provide up-to-date information on this program.
