    JROTC Arrives at AMHS!
Further information on the program can be found under Academics>JROTC in the drop down menu above.

AMHS is now a proud host of a JROTC program. AMHS was one of three from a field of 258 to receive approval for a JROTC program and is the first Army JROTC program in all of King County. The program is off to a great start this semester with over 50 students enrolled in two periods and will expand to all day next academic year. JROTC’s mission is to make students better citizens through emphasis in academics, leadership, physical fitness and character development. Cadets are a part of a special team, a part of the Lion Battalion.

AMHS hired Lieutenant Colonel Jason Shrader to be the Senior Army Instructor (SAI). He arrives from four years at Pacific Lutheran University as the Professor of Military Science. He graduated from the United States Military Academy (West Point) with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has been in the army over 21 years as an Engineer Officer. AMHS also hired Chief Warrant Officer Ed Gondo to be the Army Instructor (AI). He arrives with over 20 years of experience as a Non Commissioned Officer (making the rank of SFC/E7) and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer in the field of Transportation.
