King County 211 is a free, confidential, 24/7 service that connects residents to community health and human services, serving as a central access point for assistance. By dialing 2-1-1 or texting, residents can find help with basic needs like housing, food, rent assistance, health care, and utility support.

Key Details About King County 211:

  • How to Access: Dial 2-1-1 (toll-free) or call 1-877-211-9274.
  • Text Option: Text your zip code to 898211 (available Mon-Fri, 8 am - 6 pm) or text WAOD to 898211 for specialized assistance.
  • Services Provided: Provides referrals to over 1,500 agencies in King County for, among other things, food banks, emergency shelters, legal aid, and mental health services.
  • Support: Trained specialists are available to listen and guide users to local resources.
  • Online Directory: You can search for services yourself at https://wa211.org/.
