Returning to Work After Retirement
After you retire, you can return to work with some limitation on hours. Retirees are able to work up to 1040 hours/calendar year through July 1, 2025.
After July 1, the max hours will be 867 hours/calendar year. It is important to track your hours to avoid a reduction in your pension benefits.
If you are a retiree of TRS, SERS or PERS, you must wait 30 days after your official retirement date before you can return to work. If you return to work in any capacity before the 30 days, your benefit will be reduced or penalized.
