CNS Meal Charging Procedure
π½οΈ Free School Meals for All Students
Auburn School District participates in the Community Eligibility Program, which provides one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day for all students. Some sites also offer one free supper meal.
β Requirements for Free Meals
Students must select a Complete Breakfast or Complete Lunch to receive the meal at no cost.
π Optional À La Carte Food Items
Additional food items not included in the free meal may be available for purchase at some schools, including:
- π½οΈ Second breakfast/lunch meals or extra entrées
- π Snacks such as chips, cookies, and juice
- π§ Bottled water
- π₯ Additional milk
π° Cafeteria Meal Accounts & Payments
Students must have money available at the time of purchase to buy optional à la carte food items. Families may add money to a student’s cafeteria meal account or students may pay with cash.
If a student owes money, Child Nutrition will contact the Family 1 Parent/Guardian to inform them and request payment. Students will continue to receive a free breakfast and lunch.

- π΅ Cash or check – Pay in the school cafeteria cashier line (no fee for this option)
- π³ InTouch - Online pay with debit or credit card (convenience fee applies for this option)

- Log in to InTouch using your Skyward Family Access account
- Select your student
- Choose Child Nutrition Cafeteria Deposits
- Enter the amount and select Buy
- Proceed to checkout, enter your credit/debit card, & select Pay to complete purchase

Child Nutrition Mission Statement
Our Child Nutrition department's mission is to support students and families by offering nutritionally sound, healthy, well-balanced meals every day. Proper nutrition is the key to student learning and academic success. Nourishing breakfast and lunches are available at 24 schools each day, prepared on site. We serve over 6,000 breakfasts and 10,000 lunches each day in our district.
We offer a wonderful variety of fruits and vegetables on our salad bars. Whole grains, proteins, and a variety of low fat milk choices come with the salad bars each day. All meals are trans-fat free and meet the current USDA requirements regulating calories, fats, sugar, nutrients and serving size. Every school offers a variety of entrée choices and options on the salad bar.
