Instructional Technology Support Specialist (ITSS)

1:1 Technology Coordinator

 

(Middle Schools Only)

Go to person for support with instructional uses (providing instruction, student engagement, demonstrating learning)

Go to person for everything else tech (broken, need more of, how to operate) - think “things you touch”

Tech Department technician who works at your school - either part-time or full-time. Submit a ticket for anything tech.

Librarian at the middle schools who provides Chromebooks to students when TSS is not available
  • Supports staff in using technology tools with students  (e.g. Google Classroom, Seesaw, online curriculum)
  • Can answer questions about which applications to use and/or how to use them
  • Passes information along from DoT to staff
  • Supports when classroom technology isn’t working as expected (e.g. desktop, microphones, sound system, AirTame, teacher and student Chromebooks, printers)
  • Tech refresh/ inventory
  • Submits helpdesk tickets
  • Supports classroom and building technology when it is broken or in need of deeper attention than the BTC can provide
  • Installs new hardware and software
  • Completes helpdesk tickets
  • Schedules and coordinates Chromebook check-out for 6th graders
  • Schedules and coordinates the return of Chromebooks for 8th graders
  • Swaps damaged student Chromebooks for working ones when TSS is unavailable
  • Not a support person for technology in the building
