Department of Technology Intern Training Program
The PAID intern training program is offered to sophomores and juniors to come and learn about the work of the Department of Technology. The program runs after school two days a week each spring semester. Interns are taught about networking, Windows desktop and server operating system installations, and software installation for the software used in the Auburn School District. Interns are also instructed in troubleshooting and problem resolution and get very good hands-on experience.
Once the semester of training is over, those interns who are interested and performed well in the program are generally offered an opportunity to work for the district over the summer. Summer work acts as a 2-month trial for interns to be offered a potential after-school job during the following school year. Many of the interns who have completed the program have been very successful in securing related jobs both during and after college. Applications are due January 12, 2024. Interviews are scheduled the following week. All interested students are strongly encouraged to apply.
Students who are interested in applying for the internship should turn in a résumé and cover letter to the Technology Support Specialist (TSS) or Building Technology Coordinator (BTC) in their schools during the January window:

Both work-based learning credit and compensation may be available to successful candidates in the internship program. Program starts February 6, 2024.
