    Show Respect

    DISCIPLINE POLICY:
For every expectation not followed during the day, students will be required to change the color of their behavior cards.  Each child will start the day with a green card and will flip to the following colors as necessary, in this order:

    Green: Great Day!
Yellow: 2nd Reminder = Think Time Owed
Blue: 3rd Reminder = Recess Time Owed
Red: Out of Control = Visit to the Office

    HOMEWORK:
Each week, your child will be bringing home a Spelling Homework Packet to practice their spelling words of the week. They are not expected to complete all of the pages in one night. I’m asking that they at least complete one page a night. The first page of each packet will be for Monday night, the second page is for Tuesday night’s practice, the third is for Wednesday. All three pages need to be completed and ready to turn in by Thursday morning of each week. Students need to at least complete each evening’s assignment so we can go over it together the following day in class. If students choose to complete the entire packet ahead of time, that is fine. We will have our weekly Spelling quizzes every Friday. New spelling lists will be assigned on Mondays, or Tuesday if there is no school on Monday.  Additional homework assignments may be handed out occasionally.

    PAT ON THE BACK AWARDS:
This is a monthly award given to students who have shown outstanding academics, perfect attendance, excellent classroom behavior, etc.

    BREAKFAST:
Breakfast is served at Lakeland Hills at 8:25 a.m.  Students line up outside the front door of the school and may enter at 8:25.

    EMERGENCY KITS:
In case of an emergency, it is recommended each child has an emergency kit.  It can be as simple as a gallon-sized zip-lock bag that contains non-perishable food and drinks, a large garbage bag, and a note/picture from a family member.  These will be labeled with each student's name, stored in a bin in our classroom, and returned to the students at the end of the year if unused.  Emergency kits are sold at the beginning of the year through a flyer that comes home in Kid Mail.

    BIRTHDAYS:
Due to allergies, students may bring only store-purchased treats for the class on their birthday if they would like to.
