SUN Bucks Summer EBT: A New Program to Boost Kids' Access to Nutritious Food During the Summer

SUN Bucks: Find Out if You're Eligible for the New Summer EBT Grocery Benefits Program

SUN Bucks benefit is a one -time payment of $120 per eligible child during summer break for groceries. Families can use it along with benefits like SNAP/WIC and other summer meal programs. Receiving SUN Bucks will not affect children or families’ immigration status.

Eligible students will receive an approval notice and a new SUN Bucks EBT card via U.S. Mail. DSHS plans to issue benefits July through the end of August 2024. Get more information here: www.dshs.wa.gov/SUNBucks

Who is Eligible?
• Students who submit a qualifying Family Income Survey (FIS) form.
• Students who are Directly Certified already participating in SNAP/TANF/Medicaid programs, etc.
• Students that are determined income eligible through SUN Bucks Summer EBT Application.

Do you need to take action?
Many students will get SUN Bucks automatically if they are participating in SNAP/TANF/Medicaid or other State benefits, or if they already
submitted a qualified Family Income Survey (FIS) but some families may need to apply for the program if they are not automatically qualified.

You will need to take action if you have not yet submitted a Family Income Survey (FIS) form. You may fill out & turn in the FIS form to your
school main office or you may submit it online via Skyward Family Access before June 15, 2024.

Students who do not qualify automatically or did not submit an FIS prior to June 15, can apply directly with DSHS, the application will soon be
available online in English and Spanish. Applications will be accepted through August 31, 2024.


Important Reminders:
Please check & update your mailing address in Skyward Family Access, notify school of any address changes during school year.

If you move during the summer, please update your address directly with DSHS SUN Bucks EBT contact center.
