On a typical school day in the Auburn School District, over 6,000 students participate in the school breakfast program and over 10,000 students participate in the school lunch program. When school is out for the summer, kids lose access to these healthy meals, but they still need nutritious food to grow healthy and strong.

Auburn School District continues to offer summer nutrition options to help our children reach their full potential. The USDA Summer Food Service Program has been re-branded: SUN Summer Nutrition Programs for Kids. Three options are available to support our kids and families.

With SUN Meals, kids from 1-18 years of age can get free meals at schools, parks and other group locations throughout Auburn.  Children must be present and eat their meal at the site. There is no sign up for this program, and all children are welcome at any site.  A list of sites and serving times will be posted on the Auburn School District website. Come and join us!

SUN Meals To-Go is a new option for rural areas this year!  Auburn is pleased to add three non-congregate sites in rural areas where kids will be able to pick-up grab & go meals and take them away from the site to eat. The list of sites and times will be posted on the Auburn School District website.

SUN Bucks helps families stretch grocery budgets with a $120 grocery benefit for each eligible school-aged child, so you can buy more of the foods your children love!
