  • Experience for All

Our Assembly is an “Awards Assembly” that focuses on the 8th grade. It is not a “graduation”. Parents are welcome to attend and If a student is getting a specific award – parents have been notified by mail. Friday (the 24th) is traditionally a dress up day. It is not necessary to purchase anything new, just dress a bit nicer than a regular day. Remember that this is still a school day and appropriate school attire is expected. NO SPAGHETTI STRAPS, STRAPLESS OR SHORT DRESSES, NO HATS and/or HOODS, and no SAGGING PANTS. Please follow the dress code. It is unfortunate when a student dresses inappropriately and is required to sit in the office until the assembly ends instead of celebrating with their friends. THIS HAPPENS EVERY YEAR SO MAKE GOOD CHOICES WHEN DRESSING FOR THE DAY. Students should not bring backpacks, large bags, purses, etc. on this day. Any items brought to school will be asked to be stored in the conference room during the assembly. Students are not to bring friends to school.

  • RMS is a Level Two Green School

“Energy conservation is the main focus of Level Two of the King County Green Schools Program. After each school or school district completes the Level Two Best Practices Guide, recognition is awarded. Schools can decrease their energy consumption by properly maintaining lighting and heating systems, investing in more energy-efficient systems, and through simple everyday actions such as turning off lights and computers when they are not needed. After salaries, school districts spend the most money on utilities such as electricity and heat. Schools also can reduce their impact on global warming by reducing energy use. Energy consumption includes burning fossil fuels such as coal, oil and natural gas, which contributes to global climate change.”
