RAVEN RECOGNITION: We would like to acknowledge students, staff and programs at ARHS that have recently been honored, won awards, or excelled in competition. These are just a few examples of the many outstanding accomplishments by our programs here at Auburn Riverside:

- Congratulations Sahanie Shell. Intent to play soccer at Saint Martins Univ.Congratulations to Andy Starkel and TJ Moffat!! Playing in the all-state football game (June 30th) means they will spend a week practicing and playing in Moses Lake. To help pay for their hotel and food they are required to sell tickets. Tickets are $10 each. Consider helping these athletes represent Auburn Riverside by buying a ticket to the game.ARHS Students representing Auburn at the Passing the Torch at the Bellevue Arts Museum. Not only did every entry win, but we won first place in all three categories a first for us). The following band students qualified for the State Solo & Ensemble Contest back in February. They competed this last weekend at the WIAA/WMEA State Solo & Ensemble Contest at CWU:

ARHS Speech and Debate Team competed in five events at the State Individual Events Tournament on Saturday. Kristina Pogosian in Humorous Interpretation and Duo Interpretation with Andres Madrigal, Andres also in Humorous Interpretation, Sara Koenig in Oratory, and Mei Eldridge in Interpretive Reading. Kristina and Andres placed 3rd in 4A Duo Interpretation and earned another automatic bid to the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions (NIETOC). Andres is a finalist in Humorous Interpretation and earned his second bid to NIETOC. Kristina is the state champion in Humorous Interpretation. Together they placed ARHS 5th in Sweepstakes among all 4A schools attending the tournament. Both will be attending NIETOC in Kansas City, MO in May to compete in Humorous and Duo Interpretation. Kristina has qualified for the National Speech and Debate Association's National Tournament that will be held in Birmingham, AL, in June.

Students were accepted based on music excellence and ability to perform at a high level. Congratulation - This Sunday at the IWF Youth World Weightlifting Championships, Harrison Maurus won all three silver medals in his 77KG weight class. It is a monumental accomplishment for Harrison and Team USA. He also finished 2nd overall at the Youth World Championship.Yeh-Sun Lee is finishing a 2 year position on the Washington Association of Student Leaders Executive Board. AWSL is sponsored by the Association of Washington School Principals. Yeh-Sun has represented students across the state of Washington and at Auburn Riverside with excellence.Andy Tu auditioned on cello and won a concerto competition with the Tacoma Youth Symphony! He will be performing with one of the Tacoma Youth Sympho-ny orchestras as a featured soloist!Visual Communications Contract Study kids were selected to work with Lake-land Hills Elementary school students and staff, under the supervision of principal Colleen Barlow, to produce a short training video for the Auburn School District concerning Emergency Drill preparation. The production crew included Sean Canonica, Brandon Canonica, Micaela Boettcher, James Lear, Sam Gingrich and Abbigail Dohse.LEAGUE CHAMPIONS: Boys Tennis, Boys Cross Country, Girls Swim-ming, and Volleyball are all league champions! All finished the season 7-0 in league.Girls Golf: Jennifer Kim won the NPSL individual championship tournament at Gold Mountain shooting two rounds of 76 and has qualified for the 4A State Tournament which will be held in the spring. Jennifer has been the tournament champion now for three years. Nicole Matatios has also qualified for the state tournament by finishing 8th shooting 88 and 83 respectively. Congrats to them both!Colby Tong in tennis was the overall NPSL league champion in the league and has qualified for State in the Spring.Boys Cross Country team qualified for the State Meet!Volleyball is league Champs! The 2016 ARHS volleyball team is headed to the West Central District tournament as the #1 seed from the North Puget Sound League. Their first game is Friday, November 4th at 1:45 at Auburn Moun-tainview! Come support this amazing team!Girls Soccer is 10-4 in league, has locked up 2nd place.Football:Took 3rd place in the league and will be heading to State playoffs. The team’s first playoff game is at 7pm in Monroe Friday, November 4th.Girls Cross Country qualified for the WCD championships.Water Polo is .500 in league.
