Welcome to Olympic Orchestra! The choirs at Olympic Middle School strive for musical excellence, strong work ethic, and service to our community.
We have several concerts throughout the year. Please look at the events tab for a complete list of all performances. All of the school concerts are REQUIRED PERFORMANCES. It is extremely important that every student participate in all of the concerts. Sickness of family emergencies will be excused. If you have conflicts on concert dates, please contact me early so that we can work out a solution together.
Orchestra Concerts:
December 13, 2018 at 7 PM at the Auburn Riverside Theatre (ART)
8th Grade: December 17, 2018 at Seattle Center (Winterfest)
March 28, 2019 at 7 PM at the Auburn Performing Arts Center (PAC)
June 18, 2019 at 7 PM at the Auburn Riverside Theatre (ART)
Practice sheets are due every week by all 6th, 7th and 8th graders. They are required to practice 90 minutes per week with a parent signature. It is best to plan a daily practice time in a quiet place. Uninterrupted practice time is very important. Students should practice the parts of the music that is challenging to them. Taking a small chunk of the music and rehearsing it VERY SLOWLY will make that section easier over time.
About the Director:
A native of Alaska, Jon Heintz received his Bachelor's in Music Education from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. Mr. Heintz performs with several jazz bands and orchestras around the Puget Sound, as well as rock and pop bands. When he is not working with musicians, you'll probably find Mr. Heintz cheering on his favorite football team - the New England Patriots!
Mr. Heintz is incredibly excited to teach the hard working your musicians of Olympic Middle School
