SPORTS

 

The Trojans swim team won yesterday against Riverside 90 – 86  YES! This was the first win against the ravens in about 10 years. Way to go team.


GENERAL

 

Don’t forget to stop by the library on PLC Monday mornings for help with your school work. We have friendly National Honor Society students who are happy to assist you.

 

The Kent Auburn Tamba Summer exchange to Japan is coming. The parent information night is Jan 8th at 6:30 p.m. at the Auburn Annex building city hall. 8th, 9th and 10th graders are welcome.No Japanese language knowledge is required.

 

Jr. Intern Program Applications and Resumes are due to Mr. White in room 100 by Jan 5 3PM. For more information look at the S:\Shared\AHS IT internship.  Don’t miss this exciting opportunity to work with computers and back closets of AHS and other school buildings.

 

Pre ordered senior shirts have arrived! You can pick yours up from Mrs. Sarr in room #103. Best time for picking up is before school or during lunch.

 

Students who want to be in the winter musical “Footloose”: We have several walk-on & ensemble roles available. The last day to join is the 9th of January. Do not miss out on the after school drama club excitement. See Mr. Kerr in 501 North for more information.


Today is Ugly Sweater Day!  If you have your ugly sweat on, come by the Activities Office and get your picture taken so you can star in the lunch time slide show!  When we get back from winter break, it is another spirit week leading up to our Winter Sports assembly on Friday.  The Monday spirit day will be _________ So remember to dress up and show your Trojan Pride!  Now…. For the final Movie Clip trivia of the week.  The first teacher to email Mrs. Henry with the correct movie title will win an amazing surprise! 


CAREER NEWS


Seniors…January is your month to apply for college financial aid.  Visit the Career Center to learn how to apply using the online FAFSA form.  All Seniors who need help with the FAFSA should plan to come to the AHS Library on Saturday, January 10th from 10am to 1pm.  Financial Aid experts will be present and all who attend will be entered in a drawing for free movie tickets.  A sign-up sheet is available in the Career Center.
