MEETINGS

Do you want to save lives just by collecting $1.80? UNICEF is partnering with the Eliminate Project to raise money to prevent deaths due to tetanus. If you are interesting in working with Key Club on this important project, please attend our meeting TODAY after school in room 312. We will be having a guest speaker presenting a video and more information about tetanus deaths.

Pacific Island club will meet Tuesday and Thursday this week. Come find out information about the SHAPING conference at WSU in October. Come to room 325 at 2:20 PM.

Are you interested in plants? Do you want to learn valuable leadership skills? The FFA club is now up and running and we are looking for more members. Everyone is welcome. The FFA club meets every Thursday after school in Mrs. Kurka’s Horticulture room 700 in the North Campus. Come by for more information!

GENERAL

Communities In Schools of Auburn is working with Washington Elementary to bring additional academic support to students. To gain this academic support we need help from Auburn High School students. Study Buddies is an after-school tutoring program at Washington. A child from Washington Elementary will be paired with a particular  high school tutor and receive help from him/her throughout the course of the school year. Tutors help students in math and reading. The program will be on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. starting Monday, October 13th. Please see Mrs. Grimm if you are interested.

Homecoming is less than a month away!  Tickets can be purchased at the bookkeeper for $12.50 w/ASB, or $15 without, or $20 at the door.  Buy your tickets early and don’t forget to pick up a guest pass and dance contract at the Activities Office.  If you’ve never been to a dance at AHS, you must have a dance contract on file before you can attend.

Security will begin issuing tickets on October 1st. All cars in the student parking lot must have a parking tag in their vehicle hanging on their rear-view mirror at all times during normal school hours, otherwise they will receive a ticket for either not having a parking permit or not having their paid permit displayed in plain sight at the time they are parked here on campus during normal school hours.

Starting October 1st, all skateboards must be secured in the skateboard rack located next to the bike racks in the courtyard.  Starting October 1st, skateboards will not be allowed in the building.  Students will need to provide their own locks.

The elevator is for approved students/staff use only. Students may bring one person with them when riding elevators to assist them in getting to their next class. Show your Trojan Pride by keeping the elevator accessible to those who need it.
