    Hi, my name is Brenda Leyda and I am very fortunate to be your librarian at Bowman Creek Elementary. I've been a librarian for the past 32 years and I am very excited to help build a positive learning environment as well as a love of reading with your child! My vision is to engage and inspire students to become life-long learners while providing them with the confidence and skills to support their future goals.

    In my free time, I enjoy reading (bet you couldn't guess that:), walking on the beach, cooking, cross-country skiing and spending as much time as possible with my family. I'm married and have two grown children and four grandchildren.  Being a Nana has brought so much joy to my life!

    Hello Bowman Creek Bears!!  I am Danette Wate and I am the Library Para for Bowman Creek Elementary! I have worked with our wonderful Librarian, Mrs. Leyda for the past 11 years and I was so happy to be able to continue with her at Bowman Creek! As you may imagine, I love to read, and I hope to share that same passion with each student to help them grow as readers and enjoy what they are reading and learning. I look forward to helping all students find just the right book! 😊

    Some of the things I enjoy doing in my free time are spending time with my family, crafting, fishing, playing board games, reading and watching sports (Go Hawks!! Go Mariners!!). My favorite place to visit is Disneyland and I am a huge fan of Snoopy!
