Kaup receives highest award
Award Winning ProgramMr. Thomas J. Kaup, MJE is the adviser of the program. Kaup was named the Washington State Adviser of the Year in 2014 by the Washington Journalism Education Association. In 2015, Kaup was named a Special Recognition Adviser by the Dow Jones News Fund, one of only 9 journalism teachers in the United States recognized by the organization. In March of 2018, Kaup received the highest honor that a journalism teacher in the state of Washington can receive, the Dorothy McPhillips Award for Distinguished Service from the Washington Journalism Education Association.Ms. Anna Marshall, CJE, is the co-adviser of the journalism program. Marshall brings both professional newspaper experience as well as many years as the Troy InVoice Adviser during her previous assignment at Auburn High School. Marshall teaches the growing Journalistic Writing class which has become a very popular class for students who want to learn the skill of technical writing. Marshall is also the Co-Chairperson of the Language Arts Department.
