The Auburn School District’s fifteenth elementary now has a name—Bowman Creek Elementary. The ASD Board of Directors selected the name at last night’s board meeting. The decision was a culmination of a naming process that began in November when the board asked the community to make suggestions for the name of Auburn’s newest elementary.
The Auburn School District board of directors unanimously approved placing a four-year Educational Program and Operations Replacement Levy and a six-year Technology Replacement Levy on the February 11 ballot.
Each spring, all Washington public school students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 are tested in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math through the Smarter Balanced summative assessment system and grades 5, 8 and 11 are tested in Science through the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS). This testing meets state and federal requirements.
