Auburn School District ECEAP provides FREE preschool for eligible 3 and 4 year olds.
What is ECEAP?
ECEAP (pronounced “E-Cap”) is the Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program. This is a FREE comprehensive preschool and family service program supported by the state of Washington. All previous Auburn School District Head Start classrooms have been converted to ECEAP.
We offer:
- Trained teaching staff
- Kindergarten preparation
- Nutritious meals and snacks
- Health and developmental screenings
- Family support services, mobility mentoring, parent education and engagement opportunities

Who is eligible?
- Children age 3-4 years by August 31
- Children in Foster Care/Kinship Care/adopted out of Foster Care
- Families receiving TANF or SSI for disability
- Families experiencing homelessness
- Children with disabilities or IEPs
- Families living on low incomes
We enroll children based on eligibility factors, family needs, and available openings.

To apply for ECEAP Preschool, please print and return the completed application to one of our ECEAP schools, along with the documents listed below. If you are unable to print, you may also pick up and return a paper application at one of our ECEAP locations. Please allow a few days for your application to be processed.
In addition to the completed application (one per child), you will need to submit the following:
- Proof of income (12 months or previous calendar year)
- Proof of child's birthdate
- Proof of guardianship
- Immunization record (CIS)
Please contact us if you need help completing the application or if you do not have all of the requested documents. A list of acceptable documents can be found on the instruction page of the application.
Note: Please submit only ONE application to apply to any or all of our locations. Applications are listed below for the 2023-24 school year. For interest in enrolling in the 2022-23 school year, please contact one of the Family Support Specialists listed above.
