Wireless and Guest Network Configuration
-
Provided below is the typical configuration of the wireless network at each site, the intention behind each network and guidance on usage:
ASD-Secure:
This wireless network is specifically for district-owned Windows computers (laptops). They get their wireless information from the network and should not connect to any other ASD wireless networks. If a district-owned laptop is not connecting to ASD-Secure, please submit a TMA for repair.
ASD-Mobile:
This wireless network is specifically for district-owned Chromebooks/tablets, and those devices should connect automatically. If the Chromebook/tablet does not connect to ASD-Mobile, please submit a TMA for repair.
ASD-ZZZ-Mobile:
Every building has a wireless network where ZZZ is the three letter code for their building. This is the wireless network that staff could use to connect their personal devices. They should not connect district-owned Chromebooks or laptops to this wireless network. The building administrator, or his/her designee, has the password for their building.
ASD-ZZZ-Guest:
Some buildings have opted to have guest BYOD enabled. This gives them click-through authentication similar to here at the Ad Building. District owned network devices (Chromebooks, tablets, or laptops) should not connect to this network.
Note: There is some specific/special use wireless configuration at certain sites that control items like printing and other features.
